In these three poems that I have read, and the play I saw this past week the authors use imagery throughout there poems. In the “Suburban” written the author uses words to almost make you imagine the dogs “repulsive objects” are right in front of you. In the poem “Liberty” written by Thomas Lynch the author uses many words make you feel and see what liberty actual is. In final poem I had to read “The Cask of Amontillado” written by Edgar Allen Poe the author uses words to create an image that you are in the cave with them. In the play Henry the fourth part 1 written by Shakespeare the actors made it seem like we were actually back in that time.
In the poem “Suburban” written by John Ciardi, the author uses quotes make you believe that you are actually there listening to the conversation between Mr. Ciardi and Mrs. Friar. When Mr. Ciardi went over to pick the object from the dog, I thought I was actually there and I could smell and feel the same reaction that Mrs. Friar had. The author created an image in my mind like I was actually in the suburbs. In the poem “Liberty” written by Thomas Lynch the author created an image that made me create what Liberty actually feels like. I guess in this poem the author is trying to say some people aren’t thankful for the freedom that they have. The poem was also taken place in the suburbs. The main point that author is trying to say is human kind doesn’t appreciate the freedom they have and don’t respect it. People take it for granted. In the short story “Cask of Amontillado” written by Edgar Allen Poe the author uses quotes to create an image in your mind and you feel like you can hear the fear of Amontillado being trapped by Fortunado. It was a very powerful scene to end the short story. All these authors used quotes to create imagine in each reader who read this and they accomplished it.
The play I went to see did the same thing.  They performed the play like it would have been performed back in the 1800s. Each actor when they didn’t have a line they would just hangout on the stage. If they had to change they would stay on the stage and change exactly how they performed play back in the 1800s. I thought the actors did a great job performing the play Henry the fourth part 1.  It showed how Shakespeare plays are supposed to be performed and how they would do it back in the 1800s.
